Lamar grad, former Houston Cougar rips it up for UT Brownsville

Lamar High School graduate Felix Fanaselle played a solid game but UT-Brownsville lost to Concordia University, 7-6, in college baseball action on Tuesday.

Fanaselle, a former Houston Cougar, went 2-for-2 at the dish, driving in one run and scoring one as well. The senior infielder is batting .408 to lead the team and also has a team-high 56 hits on the season.

Fanaselle is a 2005 graduate of Lamar High School. He was selected All-District and was named to the Houston All-City Team.

He attended Angelina College in Lufkin, Texas for the 2006 season, where he hit .352. He had two homers, eight doubles, scored 27 runs and stole 10 bases in 12 attempts.

He transferred to the University of Houston for the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

In 2007, Fanaselle appeared in 51 games, starting 44, and hit .296 with three homers, 12 doubles and 26 RBI. In the 2008 season, Fanaselle appeared in 31 games, starting 20, and hit .250 with one homer, five doubles and nine RBIs.
