West University Place Police Department blotter, May 2
The West University Place Police Department reported the following incidents April 24 through April 30.
BURGLARY
April 27, 8:26 p.m.: Several items were reported as stolen from a house in the 2600 block of Centenary Street.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
April 24, 8:37 a.m.: The back window of a truck bed's canopy was reported shattered while the vehicle was parked in the 2600 block of Pemberton Drive.
DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED
April 28, 12:07 a.m.: A person was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after police saw a vehicle traveling on the wrong side of the the road in the 2800 block of Bissonnet Street, an active construction zone with workers present. The driver reportedly showed signs of intoxication and admitted to drinking alcohol.
FAILURE TO STOP AND GIVE INFORMATION
April 28, 12:24 p.m.: A hit-and-run was reported in the parking lot of Whole Foods, 4004 Bellaire Blvd.
LOST PROPERTY
April 25, 12:30 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department lobby, 3814 University Blvd., to take a report that a watch had been either lost or stolen.
THEFT
April 26, 8 a.m.: Outgoing mail was reportedly stolen from a mailbox in the 2600 block of Werlein Avenue.
WARRANTS
April 24, 9:54 a.m.: A person was arrested in the parking lot of Blimpie Subs & Salads, 2260 Holcombe Blvd., for three outstanding West University Place Police Department warrants.
April 30, 9:50 a.m.: A person was arrested for outstanding West University Place Police Department warrants after an officer was dispatched to take custody of the person from Precinct 7 constable deputies.
