Lamar alum watches Elon fall
Josh Bonney, a 2008 graduate of Lamar High School, made his only shot of the game and watched Elon University fall to Charleston 63-44 in college hoops action on Saturday.
The junior guard played only two minutes in the contest.
At Lamar, Bonney played under coach Dennis Gillespie and was named a First-Team All-District, All-City and All-Region III honoree. He was also a participant in the 2008 HABCA All-Star game.
Bonney led Lamar to the 5-A State Championship regional semifinal.
He is the son of Rose and former Parade All-American Jerry Bonney.
Elon is now 8-8 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
