HS girls basketball: Westside defeats Lamar

Westside defeated Lamar 55-43 in girls high school basketball action on Thursday, in a District 20-5A match-up.

The win ups Westside to 14-5 overall and 6-0 in district play.

Brianna Luton scored a game-high 18 points in the victory.  

Westside will next host Madison on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The loss drops Lamar to 9-11 overall and 4-4 in district play.

Sierra Mendoza put up a dozen points in the loss.  

Lamar will next host Bellaire on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
