West University Police issue crime report

The West University Place Police Department has released its crime report for the week ending Thursday, April 5.

At 8:19 on Monday, April 2, a vehicle failed to stop at the intersection of Duke and Wakeforest. The driver did not have a license or insurance, and the passengers claimed to not have any form of identification.

The driver was arrested, and the passengers were detained to ensure that there were no outstanding warrants for them and were released with no charges. All three had extensive criminal histories for drug offenses and burglary.

At 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, a driver was arrested in the 5800 block of Auden when an officer discovered that the vehicle being driven had been reported stolen in 2010.

At 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, an unnamed individual came to the West University Police Department to post bond for another person in police custody. An officer found marijuana on the individual, who also had numerous open warrants from different agencies.
