"Robot and Frank" Now Showing at Landmark at River Oaks
Landmark at River Oaks, a venue for great movies and independent films, proudly presents "Robot and Frank," the winner of the Alfred P. Sloan Prize at Sundance, 2012. The dramatic comedy will be shown in the theater until Thursday, Sept. 13.
Quoting part of the movie's official synopsis, "Set in the near future, Frank, a retired cat burglar, has two grown kids who are concerned he can no longer live alone. They are tempted to place him in a nursing home until Frank's son chooses a different option: against the old man's wishes, he buys Frank a walking, talking humanoid robot programmed to improve his physical and mental health."
The movie is a comical, yet heartwarming story about friendship and family, and features multi-award winning actor, Frank Langella, playing the lead role of Frank. Directed by Jake Schreier, the cast also includes James Marsden, Liv Tyler, Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon, Peter Saarsgard, Jeremy Sisto, and Jeremy Strong.
